Man I love my job! These houses I get to photograph are so cool, and this most recent one is no exception.

I described it to my husband as a modern farmhouse in a rural setting. I'm not sure if that's what a real architect would call it, but ya'll catch my drift.

The house was just finished a couple of months ago, so it's brand spanking new. It sits on 5 acres with some great views of the Cumberland Mountains. I'd definitely spend a few evenings on that front porch watching sunsets.

As you turn into the property, the builder saved two old white oak trees that frame the driveway. The leaves have all fallen off for the winter when I was there, but it's still a pretty impressive entrance feature.

Speaking of entrances, that front door, though! It's a double wooden door, each with large 4-pane windows. I love it!

The interior of the home has lots of open living space with high ceilings and light-colored, wide-plank pine floors. And oh my heavens! Y'all know how much I love unique light fixtures. This home is loaded with them! The foyer, the living room, the kitchen – everywhere you look there are amazing lights.

The kitchen has a large center island with space on one side for 4 high-top style chairs on one side, and a large farmhouse sink on the other side. The kitchen backsplash is white, hand-molded subway tile - oooooolala! Subway tile is another one of my favorite features in a home.

The master on main is to die for! The suite has a fabulous light fixture over the bed – of course – and the master bath has a custom-built double vanity with a walk-in shower and a sweet little soaker tub!

Both the upstairs bedrooms are pretty cool, too. Each is it's own suite, complete with a full bath. By the way, I'm loving the penny tile floors in both bathrooms. One of the upstairs suites is designed for a girl with pink wainscot  The other one is designed for a boy with dark gray wainscot and black trim.

I really like the landing at the top of the stairs. There is a gallery wall complete with lighting to showcase pieces of art, be it a Picasso or a finger-painting by the kids or grandkids. The upstairs also has a bonus room with vaulted ceiling, overlooking the back acreage.

This was a really fun photo shoot. I can only imagine how cool it would be to live is this beautiful home!

Great kitchen and master suite highlight Rockwell Farm home https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/11/rockwell-farm FARRAGUT: $412,000 - 349 Rockwell Farm Ln., 4bd/3bth:

I don't know about y'all, but kitchens and master bedrooms/baths are what help me connect with a house.

I've been in some A-mazing homes with great amenities, but at the end of the day, we spend most of our time at home in the kitchen or in our bedrooms. This home at Rockwell scores big in both those areas.

This home has a great kitchen space, and I love how it's laid out. There's lots of cabinets and plenty of prep space, which is key for me. I also like how the kitchen looks into the family room so the you can still socialize with family and friends while whipping up a tasty meal or some hearty snacks.

Just off the kitchen there's multi-purpose room is at least big enough for a pool table. Itr's great place for the guys to hang, when the ladies kick them out of the kitchen.

Hardwood floors are featured throughout the home, including the dining room. And y'all know how much I love unique light fixtures, so you know I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs about that chandelier in the dining room.

There's an in-law suite on the main floor which would be nice for guests. A bonus area at the top of the stairs is a great spot to send the teens to play their video games. It would also make a great play area for the little ones or a study area for the older kids

As fabulous as I think the kitchen space is, it's the master suite that impressed me most about this home. It's gorgeous and I really like double-sided fireplace the suite shares with the attached sitting room, which you could use a bunch of different ways – nursery, office, small gym or your own private reading nook.

If you're like me and can never have too much closet space, then you'll love the walk-in closet in the master suite. Actually, I'm not sure "walk-in" is the best description for this closet. It's more like a walk-in-turn-around-stretch-out type of closest. I swear I think the kitchen in my first house was smaller than this closet!

Of course the master bath is awesome, too. The soaker tub and the custom tile shower really give this bath a spa-like feel.

A ground-level deck overlooks a fenced-in backyard. It's great spot for outdoor entertaining and there are plenty of trees to provide shade for those hot summers here in East Tennessee.

This is a great home, but don't wait long if you're interested. This market is still pretty hot.

Captains Way offers a luxurious port to call home https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/11/the-captains-house FARRAGUT: $1.5 million – 3543 Captains Way, 5bd/6bth:

Ahoy y'all! I just returned from a photo shoot on Captains Way in Farragut.

Trust me, this is not some little dingy of a house. At 7,000 square feet, this beautiful home is an ocean liner, and a luxurious one at that. I call it the U.S.S. Holy Cow!

I was stunned from the moment I stepped inside the grand foyer. The custom-built staircase dominates the room, and I almost expected to see Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio descending down the stairs. It's that fancy!

Just off the foyer is a quiet study that has an entire wall of built-in bookshelves. I was a librarian in a former life, and I've gotta tell you those shelves are one of my favorite features.

The kitchen is large with plenty room for some extra cooks. It has stainless appliances and a center island with a secondary sink and a natural gas stove stop.

The home is flooded with lots of natural light, and goodness gracious the rooms are huge. The family room is no exception. It features a tongue and groove cathedral ceiling, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the backyard pool.

The master is on the main floor, and of course has an awesome master bath with a spa tub and separate walk-in shower. What is really cool about this home is that EVERY bedroom has it's own private bathroom. That's right y'all, no more traffic jams in the morning as everyone is getting ready for school or work.

There's an extra kitchen just off the massive rec room in the basement. It's a great space for the kids, or maybe even a man cave for dad.

There's no doubt the inside of this home is gorgeous, but there's also great outdoor spaces, too. The large swimming pool is the perfect way to cool off during those humid summer days we get here in East Tennessee, and the covered back porch is idea for relaxing with family and friends just about any time of year.

If you're looking for a great port to call home, set your compass for this one on Captains Way.

Mixing It Up Makes This Home a Hit https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/10/mixing-it-up MECHANICSVILLE: $219,000 - 1417 Hannah Ave., 3bd/1bth:

It's good to mix things up every now and then. Musicians do it all the time. Sometimes artists will cross genres, like when the Queen of Country Music, Dolly Parton, performed her own rap song on the Queen Latifah Show. Other times they'll redo an existing song with new rhythms or instruments. The kids call it a "remix."

The home I recently shot in Mechanicsville is a good example of  house remix. On the outside, this 121-year-old bungalow is a Victorian beauty with a 4-color paint scheme and decorative spindle columns along the wide front porch. On the inside, many of the design elements are mid-century modern with some cool light fixtures, but there's plenty of the original turn-of-the-century charm.

Take the master bedroom, for example. The clean, angular lines in the room give a hint of mid-century modern, while the exposed brick from the original fireplace and wide-plank, pine flooring provide the old-world charm you expect from a home built in 1899.

By the way, that wide-plank, pine flooring throughout the home is original, as are the wide baseboards. Also, be sure to check out the staircase going up to the second floor. The banister is original to the house and so are the stair treads - complete with all the nicks and gouges that come from more than a century of use.

The bathroom has been completely redone with the same blend of styles. You have the black-and-white hex tile flooring and the subway tile walls combined with crystal clear shower doors and modern fixtures;

The kitchen is brand-spanking new with sleek lines, a modern color scheme, über-modern cabinets and stainless steel appliances. I really like the modern subway tile backsplash, but those leathered granite counters, though! Ooh la la! Leathered granite is my new favorite building material, and these countertops look awesome.

The living room/dining area is HUGE with a plenty of  natural light. French doors in the living room open up to a great raised deck/patio overlooking the shaded backyard.

Sometimes musical remixes aren't as good as the original. That's not the case with this home. The owner did a great job keeping and refurbishing the original elements that make old houses so charming, while adding enough modern features to make this house remix a No. 1 hit.

Boulevard Beauty With Tons of Style https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/10/boulevard-beauty NORTH HILLS: $269,900 - 3025 North Hills Blvd., 4bd/2bth:

North Hills is one of my favorite Knoxville neighborhoods. There are beautiful older homes and tree-lined streets that give this area a ton of character.

So I was excited to shoot this home. I was even more tickled when I arrived because I just love a Craftsman-style home that's put together as well as this one. This is a real beaut with the perfect mix of original features and modern day style.

The home sits on a wooded, double lot, which gives you a bunch of great outside space. The big front porch is "guarded" by 2 stone lions, which I think adds a touch of old-school charm. Speaking of which, that's the original front door from when the home was built in 1940.

The kitchen was recently updated and has stainless appliances, including a natural gas stove/oven.  I really like the open shelving! We drink a LOT of coffee at our house, so I'm also digging the coffee bar between kitchen and dining room.

By the way, did you see that fancy archway between the dining room and living room? I'm not sure what a carpenter would call that, but it looks like a curly bracket (you know, one of these - {  ) turned sideways. It's so cool! There's also a pretty boss chandelier over the dining room table.

There are hardwood floors throughout, and the living room has built-in shelves on either side of the fireplace. The downstairs bath was recently redone, and it is gorgeous!

The master bedroom is a comfy space on the main floor, and the bedrooms upstairs have their original shiplap – y'all know how I love my shiplap!

Laundry rooms are one of those spaces in your house that you don't really show off, but I tell you, the floor tile in this laundry is so cool I'd invite guests to check it out. Plus, the built-in cubbies are great for keeping all your stuff neat and organized. I like 'em so much I may have to do the same at my house.

I mentioned the beautiful wooded, double lot, but I also like that back entry porch/sunroom. That would be the spot I'd head to on a chilly fall morning to enjoy the outdoors from inside – after I stopped by the coffee bar for a fill-up, of course!

This is a fabulous home, not far from the zoo, downtown Knoxville and the U.T. campus.  If you like modern style with plenty of original charm, this may be your new home.

This Atomic City Rehab Elevates the Neighborhood! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/10/atomic-wow OAK RIDGE: 104 Pickwick Ln., 3bd/2bth:

They built houses so fast in Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project that I'm amazed so many of them are still standing. Most are in great shape and have been rehabbed, like the one I recently photographed. In fact, It's probably the best rehab of a cemesto house that I've ever seen. And like the Secret City, this beauty has a secret of it's own in the basement. Keep reading to find out.

For starters, this kitchen is AB-SO-LUTE-LY gorgeous y'all! The backsplash is hand-molded subway tile. The porcelain farmhouse sink is beautiful, as is the tile work behind the stove top and ultra-sleek hood. It seems like there's a half acre of solid surface counter tops, which is nice because you can never have too much prep space! A wrap-around, counter-height bar seats 4 comfortably, and check out that great window in the back door.

The home has an open floor plan, and the original wood floors throughout have been beautifully refinished. That huge picture window in living room over looking the backyard is a favorite, and I like how they restored the fireplace with white stacked stone.

The owners paid attention to the little details in this home. For example, I love the little arched windows in the front door, and the mail slot/basket in the door is a nice touch.

Holy guacamole! The light fixtures in this place are incredible, but the one in the master bedroom/dressing room is A-MAZING!

Both bathrooms have been completely updated. The hall bath has a double vanity and beautiful tile work. I'm loving the 6-panel doors with frosted glass panels in the master bath, which has a walk-in shower tiled with penny tiles and a glass barn door-style shower door to conserve space.

Now for the secret – this home has an elevator!! It goes from the living room area on the  first-floor to the basement, where the laundry and carport are located. I guess it's not really a secret elevator, but is that cool, or what?! By the way, the private driveway for the carport is accessed from Peach Road.

This is a great rehab, y'all. The home sits in the middle of Oak Ridge, so it's close to all the main business districts and has easy access to Pellissippi Parkway.

Modern Uptown Living in an Historic Home https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/uptown-living FOURTH & GILL: $239,000 - 1509 Grainger Ave., 2bd/1bth:

Oh my mercy! Y'all gotta check out this cute shotgun home that sits just 1 house outside the very charming Fourth & Gill Historic District.

This 1920 home has been completely rehabbed with an amazing design! The open floor plan allows tons of natural light to brighten the inside, and the re are beautiful light pine floors throughout adding to the light and airy feeling.

The living room and sitting area have vaulted ceilings with exposed black iron beams. The living room opens into a second-floor loft, which makes a great guest bedroom space, or maybe even a home office.

Did you see that nice big kitchen island with all those drawers?! What a great place for friends and family to pull up a seat. It's true that too many cooks spoil the broth, but there's always room for loved ones to keep the cook company.

The kitchen has stainless appliances, tons of cabinets and prep space, a coffee bar with beautiful open wood shelves and a really cool backsplash with geometric-shaped tiles. I also love the extra pantry cabinets located just off the kitchen next to the cozy bench window.  It looks like the perfect spot for kicking back with a good book and a cup of coffee

Holy  wow! That accent wall behind the bed in the master bedroom. I'm telling you, the owner's sense of style in rehabbing this home is on fleek, as the kids like to say (but I'm old, so they probably don't say that any more!).

The bathroom has a double vanity, which is handy when there's only one bathroom in the house. The tiny black-and-white tiles are a nice touch, and I love the brushed golden fixtures. If you look closely, you'll see the kitchen cabinet pulls have the same finish.

Staircases aren't usually a feature I highlight. Not so in this home. The stairs to the loft definitely add to the design and style the owners worked so hard to create. By the way, if it looks a little precarious to stand at the edge the loft overlooking the living room, not to worry. There is a cable railing that is being installed. It was on back order at when I photographed the home.

The Fourth & Gill Historic District sits just outside of downtown Knoxville, so this house is the ideal home for young couples, empty nesters or working professionals looking for a single-family home with a downtown vibe close to the U.T. campus.

Beauty From A Beast!! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/beauty-from-a-beast FTN CITY: $349,900 - 5512 Dogwood Dr., 3bd/2.5bth:

I'm always amazed when someone buys a total disaster of a house and transforms it into a beauty. It takes real vision to see the possibilities when most people see only impossibilities.

This home I shot in Fountain City is a great example. Wow! What an incredible rehab!

The house was vacant for about a decade. The ceiling in the family room had completely collapsed and was open to the elements for years.  I included some "before" pics just to show you how bad the house was.

It wasn't a complete wreck, though. The owners were able to salvage some of the original features, and let me tell you, it adds a ton of charm!

Check out the original wooden front door with the offset peep window. Good luck trying to find one of those at Home Depot! Many of the original interior doors and casings remain. The original hardwood flooring has been beautifully restored, as has the tile in the living room and front porch.

I absolutely love how the restoration stays true to the era of when the house was first built. For example, the hall bathroom Is completely redone with all the modern features we demand, but it's restored to the style of 1945, when the home was built. The tiny black-and-white, hex tile floor paired with the subway tile in the tub/shower is gorgeous!

The front living room has the original tile flooring and huge windows that let plenty of natural light shine through. In fact, this house has lots of great natural light throughout.

I'm loving those kitchen cabinets with glass doors up top! The shelves above the stainless farmhouse sink are made with reclaimed wood. There are granite countertops, all stainless appliances and an island with a butcher block top and plenty of drawers.

The family room has a cool white-washed stone fireplace, and I love the white stucco exterior with the black accents and trim.

Fountain City is becoming the hip place to live in Knox County, so there's lots of gentrification taking place in this part of town, especially on this street. If you're looking for a cute historic home without the hassle of rehabbing it yourself, give this one a good look-see. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.

Home is Where the Water Falls https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/home-is-where-the-water-falls FARRAGUT: $895,000 - 2004 River Sound Dr., 5bd/4.5bth:

Good gracious! I get to visit some really awesome homes, and this one is flat-out amazing. For starters, this home has a waterfall, y'all! The beautifully landscaped waterfall is built into the hill in the backyard and is best viewed from the covered back porch that runs the length of the house.

But let's start at the front door. The moment you step inside you see a beautiful curved staircase leading to 2nd floor bridge. It makes a dramatic statement, as does the stunning view through the foyer windows of the backyard waterfall. The view is framed by the architectural columns supporting the bridge, which connects the staircase with the 4 bedrooms and gigantic bonus room on the second floor.

The serene master-on-main suite offers a comfortable place to unwind. It has a fireplace and sitting area that overlook the waterfall in the backyard. The master bath is huge with his-and-her vanities separated by a large jacuzzi tub. That walk-in shower, though. The tile work is stunning!

The gorgeous family room  has great built-ins and another fireplace. The family room opens into the kitchen and breakfast area, with windows opening to back porch.

The rec room in the basement is ginormous!!!!! Just how big is it? There's a full 2nd kitchen that is larger than most people's first kitchen. A cozy, shaded patio is just off the rec room, and it's the place I'd go to enjoy a cup of coffee and a good book.

In this home you'll never have an excuse to miss a workout because there's a home gym in the basement complete with foam-cushioned flooring. The gym even has it's own entrance to the basement bathroom for showering after a good workout.

If you like entertaining on game day, you'll love the amazing home theater with projector and theater lighting. That screen has to be at least 7 feet wide! In addition, there are speakers throughout the home so you can pipe audio of the game – or some groovn' tunes – into every corner.

I really like the bonus room and the 5th bedroom that feature hand-painted wall murals. It gives the rooms a kid-friendly feel.

Like I said, this home is a-may-zing! Maybe I can convince whoever buys it to let me hang out by the waterfall.

Charming Bungalow in Historic Norris https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/charming-norris-bungalow NORRIS: $339,900 - 137 W. Norris Rd., 4bd/2.5bth:

Check out this sweet little bungalow I photographed out in Norris, y'all.

It's been completely rehabbed and converted from a standard 2/1 bungalow into a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home. A beautiful master suite, as well as a second bedroom, are on the main floor, while upstairs there are 2 more bedrooms and full bath.

There's a large living room with fireplace that I imagine will be the perfect spot for cozying up under a blanket with cup of hot cocoa on those cold East Tennessee nights.

The original hardwood floors have been beautifully refinished, and the kitchen is brand new with all stainless appliances and 2 built-in pantry closets.

I'm sure y'all get tired of me talking about my love pf shiplap, but I gotta point out that this home has its ORIGINAL shiplap!  They reused on the walls in the back foyer, as well as in the upstairs bedrooms.

In the wooded backyard there is a flagstone patio with an extra large fire pit in the middle. Again, I can just imagine gathering around the fire pit with family and friends on a cool fall evening. That's East Tennessee living at its best!

Not only is this an awesome bungalow, it's located in a cool community.

If you don't know much about Norris, it's a tiny city (population about 1,600) created in 1933 by the  Tennessee Valley Authority as part of the construction of Norris Dam. It has a central common green and a greenbelt of rural land around the town that is reserved for use by residents.

A couple of historic facts even some of the locals might not know:

  • The original homes were some of the first all-electric homes in East Tennessee.
  • The Norris Creamery was the first milk-producing plant in the world to be powered solely by electricity.
  • Norris was the first city in Tennessee to have a complete system of dial telephones.

This house is on point, no matter how you look at it. When you consider it's located in the charming village of Norris, it's a home run.

SoKno Basement Rancher Beauty https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/sokno-basement-rancher-beauty SOKNO: 209,900 - 5232 John Hall Rd., 3bd/1.5bth:

By now y'all know I travel all over East Tennessee photographing houses. My agents never cease to amaze me with the cool homes they have, regardless of location.

Take this cute little basement rancher in SoKno (it was South Knoxville when I was growing up, but SoKno sounds a lot hipper, right?).

The home sits on a nice size property, which I can best describe as East Tennessee flat, meaning it's pretty flat but it does have a little grade.

There are new wood-laminate floors throughout the home, and the bathrooms have been updated.

There is a ton of room in the big eat-in kitchen, that has updated appliances and a nice double sink. Make sure to  check out that backsplash made with gray stone subway tile. It adds a nice touch, as does the farmhouse light.

Y'all have heard me talk about pallet-wood features in the past, and I love, love, love the pallet-wood wall in this living room.  They did a great job with it.

This home has a big basement that would be perfect for a family room, home office, personal gym or maybe a combo of all.  I really like the gorgeous white painted brick fireplace with the dark-stained mantle. The basement also has a private entrance with a small patio looking out into the backyard.

Speaking of the backyard, it's plenty big enough and backs up to a wooded area that offer some nice privacy..

This is a really cute little property, and will make somebody very nice home, but hurry, I don't expect it to be on the market very long.

Modern living in a 100-year-old farmhouse https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/farmhouse-revival EAST KNOXVILLE: $239,900 - 2817 Asbury Rd., 3bd/3bth:

If you like authentic farmhouses, y'all need to check out this charming home in the East Knoxville community of Asbury.

Just how authentic? Well, on the morning I showed up for the photo shoot, the game warden and the sheriff's office were looking for a tiger running loose!

There really was a tiger, but it's the history that makes this farmhouse the real deal. Built in 1920, this home belonged to Glenn Cruze, patriarch of the Cruz family, of the locally famous Cruz Farms. In fact, it's just  a short walk from this beautiful property to the Cruze Farms scoop shop for some tasty ice cream.

You'll fall in love with this home the minute you drive up. Mature trees and the original stone wall line the front of the property, a big front porch with a porch swing makes a great spot to relax in the evenings and enjoy the fireflies.

This home has plenty of modern conveniences, but there's lots of original architecture to add plenty of charm as well! I love the original hardwood flooring (refurbished) and original wood trim throughout are perfect!

There's touches of shiplap throughout, and y'all know I love shiplap!! Bunches of windows allow plenty of natural light to flood inside.  Several of the rooms have 10-foot ceilings and a couple of the rooms have transom windows over the doorway.

I love this kitchen! It has a true modern farmhouse feel, with a big farmhouse sink and butcher block counters. Dark blue bottom cabinets and white uppers give the kitchen a great color palette. I'm also digging those funky light fixtures in the kitchen and dining room. The laundry room off the kitchen is spacious.

OOOOLALA! Let me tell you about the master suite.  There's more shiplap on the ceiling in this roomy master bedroom, as well as a completely remodeled ensuite bath with a huge walk-in shower.

And while you may never need a full-blown working farm like the Cruze family did, the property has a fertile garden plot, fruit trees and elderberry bushes to supplement your trips to the local Kroger. There's a barn (built in the 1930s), a chicken coop, and a detached 2-car garage with an attic. A side yard fence will help you keep the kiddos, Fiddos, chickens and all the other critters safe.

Did I mention there's a community playground across the street?

Seriously y'all, this is an amazing property! If you want authentic country living just a 15t-minute drive from downtown Knoxville, you definitely need to check out this home.

Log Cabin In Paradise https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/log-cabin-in-paradise CORRYTON: $799,000 - 162 Smith Rd., 3 acres 5bd/3bth:

Check it out, y'all! This A-mazing log cabin is nothing like those you would find on Little House on the Prairie.

For starters, it's in East Tennessee –  Corryton specifically – and the huge front porch has a beautiful view of House Mountain.

The rustic look of the log cabin fit perfectly in the rural setting, but don't let that fool you. Inside you'll find all the modern conveniences.

The kitchen is a home chef's dream with a commercial stove and a commercial refrigerator with glass doors. The teenagers no longer have to keep opening the fridge door to complain about how there's nothing to eat. ;-)  New cabinets, a farmhouse sink and granite countertops make this a modern kitchen a real gem.

The master bedroom has a fireplace, which makes it super cozy on a winter's night. The connected master bath has been completely redone and is stunning!

As you head upstairs, there is a landing area on 2nd floor that makes a flexible bonus space. It could be a great study, an extra den or maybe just a quiet spot away from the comfortable 1st-floor living room where all the action is.

The 2nd floor has 3 nice size bedrooms and a bathroom with double vanity.

The loft area on 3rd floor is currently used an extra bedroom and playroom, but really the possibilities are endless. Use it for more storage, as a craft room or a boss home office.

The home sits on 3 acres, so there's plenty of space for outdoor activities. There is an awesome covered and screened-in back porch overlooking an above-ground pool.

And did I mention the property has its own solar panels to help keep those power bills in check?

I really dig this home – great design, modern amenities and a beautiful rural setting. This is a log cabin for the 21st century.

Sitting On the Dock of Mallard Bay https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/sitting-on-the-dock-of-mallard-bay CHOTO: $720,000 - 1106 Blue Teal Ln., 5bd/4+2hlf bth:

I photograph  a lot of great homes. Every now and then I just have to set the camera down and take in the beauty of a fabulous home. This massive 5-bedroom in Mallard Bay is a good example.

Everything about this home is so on point, even the ceilings blew me away!

The first thing you notice as you drive to the end of the cut-de-sac is the amazing terraced front yard.  The private backyard is gorgeous, too, and is completely fenced in.

When I stepped inside I immediately loved the soft color palette that provides the home with plenty of light and bright through out.

The kitchen has a mix of dark- and light-wood cabinets, and the tile work behind the stove is just one example of the craftsmanship put into the home. The open kitchen is connected to a roomy living room, making it perfect for entertaining. Make sure to check out those light fixtures over the dining and breakfast tables!

The bedrooms are huge, and 3 of the 5 include their own ensuite bathroom. The other 2 share a jack-and-jill bath. And holy wow! That ceiling in the master! The 5th bedroom is in basement and has an ensuite bathroom, giving it plenty of privacy for guests.

Speaking of the basement, it has a comfortable family room with some gorgeous built-ins around the fireplace and a coffered ceiling.

Like I said, this home is on point, and I haven't even talked about the neighborhood. Sitting on the shore of Concord Lake, Mallard Bay has a private community boat launch/dock with 2 community gazebos built out into the water. It's perfect for enjoying a glorious sunset while sitting on the dock of your new neighborhood in Mallard Bay.

Jack Pot At the End Of the Cul-De-Sac https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/9/jack-pot-at-the-end-of-the-cul-de-sac CORRYTON: $200,000 - 7139 Majors Landing Ln., 3bd/2bth:

l’ve never found that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but I did find this jackpot at the end of the cul-de-sac.

For starters, I’m loving the modern farmhouse design of this cute ranch-style house out in Corryton.

The kitchen has been completely redone with new cabinets, granite counter tops and one of those big stainless steel farmhouse sinks.  There are stainless steel appliances throughout and the space is well lit with plenty of natural light as well as some awesome light fixtures.

A built-in breakfast nook with a granite top and a big window looking out on the backyard will make a great spot to get the day going with those first couple of cups of coffee. Like the kitchen, it also has its own fabulous light fixture.

This home has beautiful floors throughout, and the living room features a vaulted ceiling, as well as a wood pallet wall decor that nicely frames the television.

A roomy master bedroom is the perfect place to unwind at the end of a long day, and the bathrooms have been updated with modern fixtures. Two additional bedrooms mean there’s plenty of space for a growing family, or maybe a guest room and a home office.

There’s a big backyard that’s fenced in to keep all the pups - both human and canine - safe and secure. Plus, the backyard backs up to a wooded area that provides tons of privacy from the neighbors. An attached garage provides a little extra storage – or a lot of extra storage if you don't keep your car inside.

So when you get tired of looking for pots of gold, hit the jackpot with this beauty just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown Knoxville.

Good Golly Miss Dolly! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/8/Good-Golly-Miss-Dolly SEVIERVILLE: 294,900 - 2807 Alden Glenn Ct., 3bd/2bth:  Y'all are going to love this beautiful home near Dolly Parton's old stomping grounds.

This spacious home features hardwood floors throughout and a large open living room with vaulted ceilings that's ideal for hosting the big game or family get-togethers.

Just off the living room is a roomy kitchen with modern appliances, tons of cabinets and plenty of prep space on the granite counter tops. And you just know the large center island will be the gathering spot on special occasions like Christmas and Thanksgiving. The attention to detail in the kitchen is pretty impressive, too. Just check out that geometric tile backsplash by the stove.

A giant mud room/laundry located just off the two-car garage is a great spot to kick off those dirty shoes. It has a large built-in coat rack with storage bins to help keep you organized, too. While most of us don't love doing laundry,it's  way less of a chore when the laundry room is as awesome as this one!

I like to say that the master suite is our retreat from the world, and this home has a beautiful, comfortable master suite. The roomy master bedroom features a tray ceiling and a big walk-in closet. The master bath has a  double vanity and a large walk-in shower.

I've got to mention the nursery with a shiplap wall. Y'all know how much I LOVE  shiplap!

The inside of this home is beautiful, no doubt, but I'm betting you'll spend a bunch of time outside on deck that's built for entertaining friends and family. A huge fenced-in backyard is perfect for letting the kiddos and the Fidos run around while the adults relax in the shade of the covered deck.

This is a great home in a great community.  As hot as the real estate market is right now, it won’t be for sale very long, so you better call the agent quick. This might just be the home you’ve been dreaming of.

The Jewel of Jefferson Ave. https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/8/the-jewel-of-jefferson-ave PARKRIDGE: $289,900 - 2331 Jefferson Ave. 3bd/2.5bth: I was out bright and early today for my first listing shoot. And boy howdy.... was it every worth it!! This was a STUNNING rehab that had all my excitement triggers firing immediately!! This is an American Foursquare home that was built in the 1920's. And I'm loving how much of the original home the owners have kept, mixed in some modern touches, and created an outcome that is just awesome!!

That big front porch was exciting just from the street. But when I walked in the front door, oh my mercy!!! The original hardwood floors have been redone beautifully!! Then I see these dark stained post an beams framing the living room. Then I saw the exposed brick from the original fireplace with that black and white geo tile hearth!!!! Then to my left was the staircase with a beautiful diamond window half way up.

The kitchen is all brand new!! Y'all, those counters are black leathered granite!!!!! It is so pretty and so soft!! And look close at the backsplash tile work..... tiny subway tiles layed in a herringbone pattern!! And the kitchen leads to the laundry area that includes new tile flooring and those wood and pipe open shelving. Just off the laundry room is the cutest study nook, complete with shiplap on the walls!!

There is a nice sized bedroom on the main level as well as one of the full baths. But go up the stairs and immediately see that landing area.... a great common area that could be used in a variety of ways..... a homework area, small tv area, reading nook........ But walk through that door to the 2nd level porch. I love that bed swing, and with the morning sun shining in, I could just imagine what a great place this would be to relax with a cup of coffee and my Bible before starting each day.

Now..... for the glory!! Take a look at that master suite!!!! More exposed brick and gorgeous light streaming in. There's a beautiful sliding door in front of the bathroom. And oh that bathroom!!!! Just take it all in..... clawfoot tub, huge walk-in shower, double vanities, and that closet. It is a serene oasis!

Photographing this home was pure joy for me!

Secret City Stunner https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/8/Secret-City-Stunner OAK RIDGE: $155,000 - 107 Taylor Rd., 3bd/1bth: As a native Oak Ridger, it makes my heart happy to photograph one of the original homes after it has been rehabbed. A little history lesson...... Oak Ridge was built in the early 1940's to house the people who were working on the Manhatten Project. These homes were meant to be temporary and were put up, on average, in 3 days - from foundation to completion!! But here we are, almost 80 years later, not only are most of the homes still standing, they have been renovated, updated and added onto. And they are not only unique, but also gorgeous!!

This home on Taylor Rd. is absolutely lovely and has some truly unique features. First, you'll notice a "mirrored" finish to the windows from the outside. These windows can see out from the inside of the house, but no matter the time of day, or even if all the lights are on inside, no one will be able to see in. You can walk around naked all the time with no blinds or curtains, and nobody is going to be the wiser!!

Another great update, a garage has been added, a feature none of these houses had originally. And the floor is lined with rubber matting. The kitchen is a complete rehab and I love it!! What was originally a "coal" room, and that many convert into a laundry room, has been incorporated to make for a nice big kitchen. And the laundry has been moved to a new room that was added on with the garage. All white cabinets, stainless appliances, and tons of counter prep space. I also love the big deep sink!! There are also tons of cabinet storage.

The bathroom has also been completely renovated and includes a walk-in shower with the "clear glass" doors. It's beautiful!! What was once a covered back porch, has been closed in to make for a third bedroom. And the windows in this room overlook a massive, flat, completely fenced backyard. And notice, this backyard is bordered by the greenway system, making it private. That makes it even nicer to sit on the outside lovely outside patio and enjoy the evening, watching the fireflies or just enjoying the company of family and friends. The backyard is not the only fencing. The entire home, except for the garage and driveway area are fenced. And there is plenty of room for the kiddos and Fidos to run around and get wild!

And before I forget, that gigantic TV in the bedroom........ a smart TV that goes with the house!!!!!! I didn't catch the size, but I think it's the biggest you can buy. The current owner has it hooked to his computer...... gives a whole new meaning to working from home!!

I promise, you will not find a nicer home for this price!!!! And Oak Ridge is known for it's award-winning school system. What you might not know, you get a lot of bang for your buck in Oak Ridge. Trash pick-up..... automatic and at the backdoor. The only can pulled to the street, your recycle. You also get automatic fire and police service, as well as leaf pick-up in the fall and junk pick-up in the spring. There's hospital 5 minutes away, and tons of places to eat and shop. Oak Ridge also has it's own Playhouse, putting on several different shows a year, and a community band, orchestra and music association!! If you want big city amenities in a small town, you don't won't to miss this home!!

Tree-top Delight https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/7/tree-top-delight TOWNSEND: $215,000 - 233 Mt. Luke Rd., 3bd/2.5bth: Before I left on vacation, I had the pleasure of photographing this special property for Rachelle Ipaye of East TN Real Estate. Sitting only a couple minutes from the heart of Townsend, and built in the 1930's, this home oozes charm and character!!! Walking in the front door, I was immediately WOWed!!!! The huge great room boasts a open ceiling, with the rafters showing, to the 2nd floor loft and wall to wall, floor-to-ceiling windows bringing the outside right inside. And in the middle of the windows, that gorgeous stacked stone fireplace. I love the touches of original stained glass over the door to the deck.

I'm loving all the shiplap that can be found on the ceilings in the kitchen and main bath. And the kitchen has been updated with new cabinets and stainless appliances, but has kept the gorgeous original wood floors. Now check out that main bath!! It's HUGE, and includes a walk-in shower, from 2 sides, and the awesome claw foot tub!

The deck on the back runs the full length of the house and is the perfect place to watch the nightly fireflies in June, the changing leaves in fall, the falling snow come winter, or the blooming of spring. There is also another giant deck area to the side of the house that has been built around the original fireplace of the old homestead.

Whether this home is bought as an investment property as part of the hugely popular vacation rental scene or a permanent resident for a family that loves being in the mountains, it will be loved by all who enter!

Stairway Stunner https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/7/stairway-stunner //KNOXVILLE: $205,000 - 3226 E. 5th Ave., 4bd/2bth: I love to photograph old homes that have been brought back to life while keeping all of it's original charm and character. Here is a real beauty!! Walking up to this home, I love the HUGE front porch. If you know me, the you know having a covered porch is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee while I watch the world go by, and make comments on all who pass my way. ;-) This porch is perfect! And that front door...... holey moley I love that full length cut led glass!!

Walking in the front door, my jaw dropped at that stair case, right in the middle of the house with it's bit of a curve at the bottom. It's just so GRAND and a beautiful center piece for this special home. Pair that staircase with those gorgeous floors, and ooooolala, its so pretty!!! The living room itself if big with that fireplace, perfect for when the temps eventually chill off.

Now that kitchen...... It is gorgeous with the cherry wood cabinets and granite counters. But look close and you'll see a faucet right at the stove top, perfect for filling pots, etc. And I love how it's not closed in by itself, but open to the dining area as well as the living room.

There are 3 bedrooms and a bath downstairs, just off that wide hallway. Did you see that gorgeous chandelier hanging in the hall?! And upstairs, you'll find the master with those beautiful windows streaming in all that gorgeous light. There is also another bathroom with custom tile walk-in shower. In the bonus room there are 2 skylights that also stream in gorgeous light, and there is a HUGE walk-in storage closet. But that's not the only storage space. The unfinished basement is completely open and dry making it perfect to store lots of stuff. There is a one car garage door the current owner uses to park the car inside out of the weather. And there is a nice concrete driveway that leads right from the street around to that garage space!

This home sits 2 houses away from Chihowee Park and The MUSE, with the zoo right around the corner. During fair time, the current owner has used the back yard to park cars, making a nice little side purse. There are lots of homes in this neighborhood being brought back to life and giving the area a whole new vibe. Don't miss your chance to be a part of it.

Wide Open Spaces! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/7/wide-open-spaces KNOXVILLE: $359,900 - 7128 Dogwood Dr., 5bd/3bth: When I get to photograph an older home that has been rehabbed well, I really get excited!! I did this one for Amy Connolly of the Real Estate Office, and it is a nice one!! It is an unusual floor plan, but I like it!! You enter the house through the basement family/living room, and then the main living space is upstairs.

Now, let's look at the details. The main living upstairs is wide open!!!! I love the huge open space!!! Can you imagine family holidays and friends gatherings in this space?! The kitchen island is gorgeous with that butcher block top! And the open cabinets add interest and character. And don't miss those brand new floors!!! They are gorgeous and the right color to go with any decor!!

There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs. And both baths have been completely updated. The tile work in the bathrooms are gorgeous! All the bedrooms have brand new, very soft carpet. And all the bedrooms are nice and big! Downstairs are 2 more bedrooms, making this home perfect for a larger family.

But there is also something special in the basement...... a second kitchen and a second laundry area, right across from the big basement bedroom..... the perfect mother-in-law suite or crash pad for a college kid! There is also that living room/family room space in the basement, as well as another full bath with laundry in it as well.

Both floors have a covered porch/deck that runs the full length of the house, the perfect spot to sit and drink a cup of coffee and relax after a long day. There is also a storage shed around the side of the. This is a great find, convenient to the West Towne shopping areas and in a mature, established, shady neighborhood. Don't hesitate! Get your buyer in to see it!

The Red Door on Redbud Drive https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/7/the-red-door-on-redbud-drive CLINTON: $325,000 - 114 Redbud Dr., 3bd/2.5bth: I photographed Lacy Mellon's newest listing today and it is absolutely adorable!!!! And it sits in one of Clinton's oldest, most charming neighborhoods. The very first thing that caught my attention..... the front porch rug. And it won't be rolled up and loaded on the moving van when the sellers leave, becuase that gorgeous "rug" is actually painted onto the porch floor!! Pair that with the red door, and I knew this one was going to be fun!!

On the other side of that red door is an open space that includes the dining room, living room and kitchen. Those hardwood floors are original to the house as is the stone fireplace, and both are beautiful!! The kitchen has been completely redone, with those gorgeous cherry cabinets and granite counters. And then just off the dining room is an additional family space that is currently used as a family room and office. But look at the flagstone floor in there! I believe this space was originally an outdoor patio between the house and what was a detached garage. I love that the flagstone has been save and used in the new indoor space! It adds a touch of unique that won't be found in other homes.

The master suite has been added on. Check out the vaulted ceiling and the SHIPLAP accent wall! And how fantastic that the bathroom includes a soaking tub! The other two bedrooms are big. Yes, that's a playhouse sitting in their playroom. Both of these rooms have 2 separate closet spaces.

Y'all know I love me some great outdoor spaces, and this one has it in spades!! And there's no need to worry about the kiddos falling down the back porch stairs, because they can use the built-in slide!!!! This is a great fenced patio/grass area for little ones. But take a look at that huge, partially shaded yard beyond the fence. Look a little further into the shade and check out that fire pit! OH YEAH!!!! That thing is big enough for lots of family and friends!! I can just image the conversations and stories that could take place around that awesome fire pit.

Don't hesitate! This house will have new owners before the end of the summer!

Wait! What? Oh Wow! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/7/wait-what-oh-wow FARRAGUT: $459,900 - 12319 Cotton Blossom Ln., 4bd/3.5bth: When I pulled up to photograph this new listing for Ashley Mullins, Realty Executives, Oak Ridge, I was pleased to see that it wasn't just another standard rancher. Although from the front, it looked a bit smaller than I expected for a home in The Battery Subivision. But as I walked in, I realized that the street view wasn't the only thing in this home that would make me say, "Wait! What? Oh wow!"

First of all, this house is much bigger than what it appears from the street, weighing in at just over 3300 sq ft...... not the cottage size it appears to be. Walk in the front door, and - Wow!!! That front door!! All the charm of an older home in a newer build!! The foyer opens up into a massive great room. I love the built-in around the fire place and the high ceilings! That wall of glass doors leads to a very private, enclosed patio. Wait! What? Oh wow!! Who would ever know this was back here?!! An oasis away from the prying eyes of the nosey neighbors, watching and waiting for you to get home because they "have a question" or need to "tell you about soand-so," who always has just one more story when all you want to do is sit back, have a drink and not think for a little bit. (I can tell by the look on your face that someone just popped into your head!)

Let's go back in and take a look at that kiitchen, with all the cabinets and granite counters, all open to that great room so chef can enjoy family and friends while a feast is being prepared. And just off the kitchen is a butler's pantry that includes shelves for extra food storage and another length of base cabinets and counter for extra dish and small appliances storage. The counter will be handy for all sorts of purposes!

I love the teired ceiling in the master, and the hallway leading to the bath has a huge closet on either side. And that soaking tub in the bath....... oooooolala!! Can you feel those soar muscles relaxing? And that big walk-in shower with 3 shower heads!! No reason to walk out without being squeaky clean! And there's another bedroom off the master with a second entrance from the foyer. This room could be used for an office, reading room, or even a bedroom. But those built-in cabinets on one wall just aren't what they appear to be - cabinets. Nope! A tug on one of the handles will reveal a Murphy bed!! That's right, a modern day Murphy bed! Perfect for space when you have just one more guest needing a place to lay their head. And this guest will also have their own bathroom as this room has an ensuite.

Now, let me show you something else ...... right upstairs. Besides the 2 HUGE bedrooms with walk-in closets and a shared Jack-and-Jill bath, look closer at that bookshelf in the hall. Wait! What? Oh wow!!! Yep!! A hidden doorway to a secret hallway that leads to a private room!!! And think of all the things that room can be used for..... home gym, office, teenager bedroom....... And there are 2 more big, walk-in closets.

Seriously cool house!!!!

Found Your Happy Place! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/7/found-your-happy-place CLINTON: $184,900 - 268 Doe Run blvd., 2bd/3bth: We're all looking for our very own "Happy Place," and Bobby George has a new listing that will make someone very happy!! It is soooooo cute!!! Fresh gray paint throughout makes for the perfect foundation to all that's going on here. I love that vaulted ceiling in the living room and kithen, divide by a partial wall. It really makes the space feel even roomier. And check out the kitchen with that new stainless, deep farmhouse sink and the tile backsplash. And that's a brand new deck just out the kitchen door.... perfect for relaxing after a day at work!

The 2 bedrooms upstairs are gigantic. And the master has it's own full bathroom and walk-in closet. And if you need a 3rd bedroom, check out the basement space!! The huge open room has another full bathroom attached. This would make the perfect master suite - big, open, french doors to the backyard and private, tucked away downstairs away from the other rooms. Or let the teenage have it for his/her room. Or use it for a large family room. So many possibilities.

That backyard is nicely shaded and completely fenced, so there's plenty of outdoor space to let the kiddos and the Fidos run wild! And did you notice that single garage door? Yes, a place to store the lawn mower, yard tools, bikes, balls and whatever else needs to be hidden away under cove

Someone out there has a buyer looking for their happy place, At this price point, someone will be singing happy songs soon, and then Bobby will be in his happy place, adding to his list of closed contracts!

Putting On the Shine!! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/putting-on-the-shine OLIVER SPRINGS: $332,900 - 118 Old Knoxville Hwy., 3bd/2bth, 2acres: Every morning I wake up, with my day scheduled and laid out before me. I usually never know beforehand what the properties I'm going to photograph are really going to look like. And most days, I'm blown away by at least one of the properties. This home, and the rehab the owners have done, totally blew me away and sent me into creative overload!! Everywhere I looked, there was a special feature I wanted to make sure to capture.

First, this property sits on 2 acres, just outside the Oak Ridge city limits, with some amazing views of Windrock and the Cumberland Mountains!! The yard itself is HUGE, and while it's not flat, there are plenty of flatter areas for the kids to play. And the woods up beyond the fence are great for exploring. The owners have also put in a new deck around the back and side, where the new hot tub sits (yes, it conveys!!). I love the frame and tin privacy barriers they built.... just the right touch of modern and texture to create interest as well as privacy. And that rock garden in the corner....... to big to be dug up. But didn't they do a great job landscaping it!! I could spend the whole evening out here, relaxing after a long day of editing!

Now step inside with me and take in all in!! Those dark gray wood floors under your feet, the sparkle of the light fixtures above, and those interior doors!!!! And there's just enough shine and sparkle to give it an upscale modern vibe. I LOVE the frosted, six panels doors withe the crystal door knobs!! I love that dining room chandelier and the pendant lights over the kitchen bar!!!

In the kitchen, look closely at that floral deisgn of the tile backsplash and how it goes all the way to the ceiling behind the sink. Also, the kitchen cabinets include the top glass doors cabinets that have lights in the top of all of them - perfect for displaying the owners CorningWare collection! And both the pantry and the laundry closet has full frosted paneled doors.

The mudroom is also fun! Once part of the original bricked paved patio, this area is 2 steps down from the kitchen, and it is lit up by the 2 walls of windows. But when you need a light, look at that black, farmhouse chandelier!!! And that built-in bench/coat rack/storage piece! and the french doors into the kitchen that the owners converted to sliding barn doors!!!

Both bathrooms have also been completely redone. I love the big subway tile on the walls and the large hex tiles on the floor. The hall bath has a beautiful modern tub, while the master has a gorgeous tiled shower. And those mirrors..... both with a ring light built-in around the edge, and they de-fog! The master bedroom has a sliding door onto the deck, making easy access to the hot tub! But look closely at that custom window over the bed! So pretty and perfect...... wall space to make arranging furniture easier while also letting in some natural light.

The owners are following the kids out of state, but had intended for this to be their last home. So they have put their heart and soul into every design decision. The result is an incredibly special home. The only decision left to make........ When do the new owners move in?! Melissa Foster of Keller Williams is the listing agent and is waiting to take your offer.

Blue Diamond https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/blue-diamond BEARDEN: $338,500 - 8200 Gallaher Station Dr., 3bd/2.5bth: Amber Fawcett of Re/Max Tri Star Realty has this updated listing hitting the market this past weekend. Just off Gallaher Rd. where it meets Westland, it's a great location, just minutes to all the favorite KTown hotspots. I really like the gray color scheme.... such a calming foundation to start. But the owner has added a pop of blue to every room. It's not overdone, just a touch here and there, and I love that!! In the kitchen, the white cabinets, gray subway tile and light granite make for such a clean, crisp pallete. But then the energy is brought up by that blue painted island!!! Then there is the tile floor in the upstairs bath, a blue geometric design!! I LOVE this style tile!! I'm also loving that big family room with the built-ins around the fireplace! And the new LVT flooring throughout is both stylish and easy to clean. Then in the backyard, check out that deck running the full length of the house!! Cook-out anyone?!! And the yard is completely fenced. So no worries about the kiddos or the Fidos getting loose. Let them run wild while you enjoy relaxing with family and friends! The new home owners will be pulling up the moving truck soon here! Who's buyer is it going to be?

Heaven on High St. https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/heaven-on-high-st KINGSTON: $859,900 - 428 High St., 4bd/3.5bh: I have been waiting a couple weeks to share this listing with you!! I photographed it for Terri Kerr of Realty Executives. And wow oh WOW!! Is it a beauty!!! Sitting at the top of the Ladd Landing gated s/d, it has gorgeous mountain views from that amazing back deck!! I love overall "gate house" style architecture. But inside, there is also so much to love!! The great room, open to the 2nd floor with it's wall of windows that let in those mountain views, and the stone fireplace! The kitlchen - oh my mercy!! Look closely at the stove and the pot-filler faucet. Check out that farmhouse sink. And the size of that island with storage all around!! Then there's the hall of pantries! But my favorite part of the kitchen....... that wet bar area with the built in espresso machine!!!

In the master suite, there are more windows with mountain views, if you want. Or use the shades to create privacy. There is also a private door opening to the back deck. But peek in that master bath and that soaking tub! OOOOOOOLALA! And just off the bath, the master closet.... with it's own granite-topped island for folding and storing clothes! I could play in that closet all day.

Upstairs, there's even more to love. There are 3 other bedrooms upstairs, 2 of them sharing a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom, complete with it's own urinal...... perfect for raising boys. There are also several "bonus" areas. Like that study nook overlooking the great room through the arched openings. Then just around the corner, a huge bonus room with built-in storage shevles, that is currently being used as a game room. And just at the end of this game room....... oh yeah!!! That's a theater room!!! With theater carpeting, black-out curtains, project and screen, and in the back - a wet bar area with a mini fridge and popcorn machine!

There is an unfinished basement the same footprint as the main floor, adding another 2-3000 sq ft and loaded with possibilities!

I LOVED photographing this home!! I wonder if the new owners would mind me stopping by for an espresso and a movie every now and then? :-D

Seeing Double https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/seeing-double SEVIERVILLE: $1.395M - 1936 Blackthorn Trail, 11bd/11.5bth: Sometimes I still have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. My job takes me into some gorgeous properties, and I feel so lucky to get to do this everyday! I photographed this beautiful vacation cabin in Pigeon Forge for Cassie Clabough and Randy Hobbs of Tennessee Monarch Realty. This place sleeps something like 46 people!!! 10 of the 11 bedrooms are full master suites with their own bath!! (If you know me, then you know how important this feature is for me! I really prefer having my own bath when I'm away with friends, colleagues or even extended family. Prevents a whole lot of awkward situations!)

There is so much to love about this property, not the least of which are the mountain views on 3 sides!! Walk in the front door and you are faced with a full panaramic view of the gorgeous Smoky Mountains! You can't beat it, even on a cloudy day when the clouds are lower than the mountain tops. And since this place does house so many, its great that there are 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, a commercial size fridge that is bigger than 2 regular refridgerators, 2 hot tubs, 2 large diningh tables (plus smaller ones scattered around), 2 levels of decking, 2 seating areas in the great room....... basically, it's all doubled! I'm also loving the elevated theater seating on the bottom level, because what is vacation without some good movie time?!

This would be a wonderful investment property, and a nice place to hold your own family reunion or corporate retreat! And when you aren't using it for your own needs, this cabin is generating income constantly. Cassie and Randy at Monarch Realty are the people to contact on this one.

Buy it for the DECK!! And so much more!! https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/buy-it-for-the-deck-and-so-much-more W. KNOX (off Lovell Rd.) - $314,900 - 1115 Live Oak Cir., 4bd/3bth: Holy guacamole, y'all!! The covered back deck on this home will have you making guacamole every weekend, because you're going to be hosting the cookouts!! It is HUGE! It is COVERED!! And it is BEAUTIFUL with those double stairs leading into the fenced backyard!! The deck would be my "spot"! But more than the deck, the inside is pretty darn spectacular as well! I'm loving the whole farmhouse design. And the walls have come down here to completely open up the space between the living room, kitchen and dining areas! Cook and enjoy your family and friends here! Look closely at the bar around the island and the counter around the stove ...... gorgeous medium stained, warm wood. Just beautiful!! And that big farmhouse stainless sink with the extendable spray faucet! This is an awesome kitchen!

The hall bath was just recently redone. I love me some old fashioned, white subway tile with the black grout.... such a classic look. And I like how they tiled the niche with small black hex tiles and mimicked that same disign in the floor with the large black hex tiles. Downstairs is a huge family room/rec room/man cave/kid quarters! There's a bedroom and another full bath as well. I love that wall of cabinets and counters with the built in sink and added fridge - perfect for game day - snack area handy while you watch the big game!

Did I mention the deck?! LOL The deck is wired and has a TV mount. So there's always that option for watching the big game as well. Melissa Foster of Keller Williams is your listing agent on this one. And move fast! This one won't last long!

The Company Charmer https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/the-company-charmer ALCOA: $215,000 - 1351 Dalton St., 3bd/2bth: Alcoa, TN is full of the old "company" houses. And I love the way people are making beautiful homes out of them with all of today's modern features and conveniences while also maintaining all the charm!! I photographed this adorable charmer this last week for Mary Parsons of Coldwell Bankers Wallace & Wallace, Realtors. I love that nook just inside the front door. The current owners are useing it as a home office - perfect!! But there are so many possibilities for this space - crafter's corner, reading nook, entry cubbies for each family memeber..... so many ideas! I also love that staircase in the dining room leading the upstairs bedrooms. There is just something about it that has so much charm! there has been a 2nd full bath added downstairs, a must for any home of 2 or more people these days! There is also another full bath upstairs between 2 of the bedrooms, which are large and has double closets. I'm loving the original 6 panel doors that have been kept throughout! And those floors, redone with dark stain!! Check out the large flat and fenced backyard with the covered patio on the side of the detached garage!! I know there is a buyer out there who will fall in love with this home as I did.

NORTH KNOX: $219,000 - 5520 Burkhart Rd., 3bd/2bth https://www.cricketpixphoto.com/blog/2020/6/north-knox-219-000---5200-burkhart-rd-3bd/2bth I had the opportunity to photograph this fabulous new listing for Matthew Peters of Solid Rock Realty. I love photographing a great rehab! They put granite on the counters and paired it with the large gray subway tile..... SHARP! That master suite is to die for!!!!! The vaulted ceiling with the dark wood beams really bring a "grandness" to the space. But then there's the fireplace!!! That's just fantasy come to life right there! I'm also loving that high wainscotting ..... doing that in my own home, I love it so much! Then there's the bath with the double sink vanity and the classic subway tile surround in the tub. I love that look! On the other side of the home are 2 more bedrooms and another bath. The outside space is just as great!! Loving that big covered front porch. The perfect spot for a swing and a cup of coffee to start, or end, the day. The big patio out back is a great spot for the grill when it's time to barbq. Then there's that large yard with the detatched garage toward the back of the property. I'm not a dude, but I image dudes will love that space. I can't wait to watch how fast this one goes!
