Boulevard Beauty With Tons of StyleNORTH HILLS: $269,900 - 3025 North Hills Blvd., 4bd/2bth: North Hills is one of my favorite Knoxville neighborhoods. There are beautiful older homes and tree-lined streets that give this area a ton of character. So I was excited to shoot this home. I was even more tickled when I arrived because I just love a Craftsman-style home that's put together as well as this one. This is a real beaut with the perfect mix of original features and modern day style. The home sits on a wooded, double lot, which gives you a bunch of great outside space. The big front porch is "guarded" by 2 stone lions, which I think adds a touch of old-school charm. Speaking of which, that's the original front door from when the home was built in 1940. The kitchen was recently updated and has stainless appliances, including a natural gas stove/oven. I really like the open shelving! We drink a LOT of coffee at our house, so I'm also digging the coffee bar between kitchen and dining room. By the way, did you see that fancy archway between the dining room and living room? I'm not sure what a carpenter would call that, but it looks like a curly bracket (you know, one of these - { ) turned sideways. It's so cool! There's also a pretty boss chandelier over the dining room table. There are hardwood floors throughout, and the living room has built-in shelves on either side of the fireplace. The downstairs bath was recently redone, and it is gorgeous! The master bedroom is a comfy space on the main floor, and the bedrooms upstairs have their original shiplap – y'all know how I love my shiplap! Laundry rooms are one of those spaces in your house that you don't really show off, but I tell you, the floor tile in this laundry is so cool I'd invite guests to check it out. Plus, the built-in cubbies are great for keeping all your stuff neat and organized. I like 'em so much I may have to do the same at my house. I mentioned the beautiful wooded, double lot, but I also like that back entry porch/sunroom. That would be the spot I'd head to on a chilly fall morning to enjoy the outdoors from inside – after I stopped by the coffee bar for a fill-up, of course! This is a fabulous home, not far from the zoo, downtown Knoxville and the U.T. campus. If you like modern style with plenty of original charm, this may be your new home.
