FARRAGUT: $1.5 million – 3543 Captains Way, 5bd/6bth:

Ahoy y'all! I just returned from a photo shoot on Captains Way in Farragut.

Trust me, this is not some little dingy of a house. At 7,000 square feet, this beautiful home is an ocean liner, and a luxurious one at that. I call it the U.S.S. Holy Cow!

I was stunned from the moment I stepped inside the grand foyer. The custom-built staircase dominates the room, and I almost expected to see Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio descending down the stairs. It's that fancy!

Just off the foyer is a quiet study that has an entire wall of built-in bookshelves. I was a librarian in a former life, and I've gotta tell you those shelves are one of my favorite features.

The kitchen is large with plenty room for some extra cooks. It has stainless appliances and a center island with a secondary sink and a natural gas stove stop.

The home is flooded with lots of natural light, and goodness gracious the rooms are huge. The family room is no exception. It features a tongue and groove cathedral ceiling, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the backyard pool.

The master is on the main floor, and of course has an awesome master bath with a spa tub and separate walk-in shower. What is really cool about this home is that EVERY bedroom has it's own private bathroom. That's right y'all, no more traffic jams in the morning as everyone is getting ready for school or work.

There's an extra kitchen just off the massive rec room in the basement. It's a great space for the kids, or maybe even a man cave for dad.

There's no doubt the inside of this home is gorgeous, but there's also great outdoor spaces, too. The large swimming pool is the perfect way to cool off during those humid summer days we get here in East Tennessee, and the covered back porch is idea for relaxing with family and friends just about any time of year.

If you're looking for a great port to call home, set your compass for this one on Captains Way.
