EAST KNOXVILLE: $239,900 - 2817 Asbury Rd., 3bd/3bth:

If you like authentic farmhouses, y'all need to check out this charming home in the East Knoxville community of Asbury.

Just how authentic? Well, on the morning I showed up for the photo shoot, the game warden and the sheriff's office were looking for a tiger running loose!

There really was a tiger, but it's the history that makes this farmhouse the real deal. Built in 1920, this home belonged to Glenn Cruze, patriarch of the Cruz family, of the locally famous Cruz Farms. In fact, it's just  a short walk from this beautiful property to the Cruze Farms scoop shop for some tasty ice cream.

You'll fall in love with this home the minute you drive up. Mature trees and the original stone wall line the front of the property, a big front porch with a porch swing makes a great spot to relax in the evenings and enjoy the fireflies.

This home has plenty of modern conveniences, but there's lots of original architecture to add plenty of charm as well! I love the original hardwood flooring (refurbished) and original wood trim throughout are perfect!

There's touches of shiplap throughout, and y'all know I love shiplap!! Bunches of windows allow plenty of natural light to flood inside.  Several of the rooms have 10-foot ceilings and a couple of the rooms have transom windows over the doorway.

I love this kitchen! It has a true modern farmhouse feel, with a big farmhouse sink and butcher block counters. Dark blue bottom cabinets and white uppers give the kitchen a great color palette. I'm also digging those funky light fixtures in the kitchen and dining room. The laundry room off the kitchen is spacious.

OOOOLALA! Let me tell you about the master suite.  There's more shiplap on the ceiling in this roomy master bedroom, as well as a completely remodeled ensuite bath with a huge walk-in shower.

And while you may never need a full-blown working farm like the Cruze family did, the property has a fertile garden plot, fruit trees and elderberry bushes to supplement your trips to the local Kroger. There's a barn (built in the 1930s), a chicken coop, and a detached 2-car garage with an attic. A side yard fence will help you keep the kiddos, Fiddos, chickens and all the other critters safe.

Did I mention there's a community playground across the street?

Seriously y'all, this is an amazing property! If you want authentic country living just a 15t-minute drive from downtown Knoxville, you definitely need to check out this home.
